Utica Salvation Army Launched Red Kettle Campaign

By: Rachel Polansky
Updated: November 13, 2012
With the holiday season upon us, it's officially the season of giving. The Utica Salvation Army launched its Red Kettle Campaign today, and it's hoping for its best year yet. This year's goal is $100,000 dollars. The money provides the less fortunate with Christmas meals, and also funds numerous year-round programs.

"Help those who are less fortunate and this is the thanksgiving season and the season of giving and we're out ringing bells. And you never whose in need, a lot of people don't like to ask for help but we see it every day and your dollars goes a long way or what you can give," says Michael Harrington, Utica Salvation Army Lieutenant.

This year's campaign honorary chairperson is Marolyn Wilson of Holland Farms Bakery and Deli. And don't forget, you can donate in person or online.
