Trash Can Film Festival

Some area students are looking to go green while staring on the silver screen. The Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is holding its third annual Trash Can Film Festival. Students from kindergarten through 12th grade can make 30 to 90 second films about recycling. The waste authority says it hopes this will be a fun way for children to learn about reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Jamie Tuttle, the Authority School Recycling Coordinator says, "When they start doing it at such a young age, recycling just becomes a natural behavior, it's just what they do. And as they get older and grow up like I said it's just a learned behavior."
The deadline for students to submit their work is December 2nd.
