AIDS Community Resources in Utica and the surrounding area is trying to light up the holiday season for area families in need.

The organization is sending out an emergency appeal for 26 additional Holiday Angels. The Holiday Angel Program pairs members of the community or "Angels" with a client and their family, who are then supplied with a list of needs, rather than a typical Christmas wish list.

"They're really financially strapped, from medications to housing, different things that they are trying to do to maintain their health and lifestyle throughout the year. So, they really don't have any extra funds left over for anything around the holiday season," said Melissa Swald Camman, the Development Associate.

If you would like to become a Holiday Angel please call 800-475-2430 or email events@AIDSCommunityResources.com.

Anything from clothing to towels and kitchen supplies are needed.
