Over the past month Central New York has seen numerous efforts to help those affected by Superstorm Sandy.

On Thursday, different law enforcement agencies loaded up a truck of donations to take to New York City.

The New York States' Sheriff's Association organized the effort for sheriff's across the state to collect the items.

Different drop off points were set up along the thruway for agencies, and Herkimer was the stop for Central New York.

"From a Sheriff's standpoint, we're always concerned about our communities and the people in our communities and when people need things, we're here to help. The Sheriff's office always comes together for different efforts. That's what we do. We work together," said Sheriff Chris Farber.

At the Herkimer stop, Representatives from the Herkimer, Oneida, and Oswego County Sheriff's Department were there for the drop off.
