The New Hartford Library Board of Trustees has officially approved it's upcoming yearly budget.

The budget is just over $500,000 and now it's up for discussion with the New Hartford Town Supervisor and Town Board.

The town has no direct legal authority over the budget, but they do fund $400,000 of it.

The town Supervisor says if the board doesn't like what they see, then that could reflect how much they give the library.

This is taxpayer's money, and since we're funding 80% of this, taxpayers are looking and saying is this running efficiently. We cut a $1.5 million out of expenditures, everybody has got to tighten their belt," said Town Supervisor, Patrick Tysinski.

Tysinski says they plan on discussing the budget at next week's board meeting on December 12th.
