As we are in the middle of the holiday season, our community continues to give back to others. The Outreach Center held a food and gift drive today at the New Hartford Shopping Center. Volunteers were out from 8 o'clock this morning until just a little while ago. The center is looking for nonperishable food items and gifts for veterans -- and all the items will help local vets.

Program Director Teresa Fava-Schram says,  "This is important because there's a lot of people that have to go without, we have a lot of single veterans as well and they're forgotten and they shouldn't be, nobody should be."

If you missed the drive and still want to give.. the Outreach Center is still accepting gifts at its center in Utica.
