Hometown Hero: James Fitzgerald

He entered the Navy Reserves in 2009, and serves as part of the Navy Military Police. James is currently a Master at Arms Petty Officer Second Class, and was deployed to Afghanistan from March to December of 2012.
When not serving for his country, James works as an insurance claims examiner in Utica. James married Taylor Beasley, originally of Holland Patent, in 2010.
In his spare time, James enjoys being with his wife, and with his family and friends. He also enjoys working on his cars, working out, playing saxophone, and watching his favorite sports teams, the NY Yankees and the Philadelphia Eagles.
James' family is very proud of his service to his country, and got to have him here at home for Christmas.
