This is the day baseball fans and some of the players eagerly await. Only this year, more dreams were dashed as some of the controversial major names from the so-called "steroid era" - and other greats of the game came up empty gloved!

Many of baseball's greatest names are already here, but there are many players awaiting their moment in the Cooperstown spotlight. Regardless of those hopes and dreams, none of the 37 player candidates this year, got enough votes to be inducted.

Director of Communications Craig Muder stresses, "Seventy-four point 9 wont cut it. You have to get 75 per cent."

That's the rule, and now for the first time since 1996, the Baseball Writers Association of America chose no one to be enshrined into the Hall of Fame. Some baseball fans are not surprised.

Brandon Gatti of New Jersey says, "I kinda feel it'll keep up with the integrity of these great names and character that we have in the Hall of Fame. You know, unfortunately, this era has brought upon us a lot of disappointing decisions. I think justice was served."

But for one fan who traveled from Portland, Oregon, is a bit let down. But not for reasons you might think.

Hank Elliot says he is sad for (Jack) Morris. I think next year he might get in. It'll be tough. You got a lot of new pitchers coming in, so it should be tough but i wish them luck.

During in Induction Week in July, these quiet streets in Cooperstown, are "all bases loaded" with fans, vendors and some familiar names from the sport. Most of the village's businesses are closed for the off-season, now. Some of the businesses are concerned, but they're optimistic. And, the hall of fame says there won't be a rain delay for this year's ceremony.

Craig Muder says, "We expect a very good crowd for Induction Weekend because it is THE baseball weekend of the year. It is baseball's best weekend, and we will have probably 50 Hall of Famers who will come back for Induction Weekend, which they do every single year. Our Hall of Famers are extremely supportive of us. We expect it will be a great time in Cooperstown, in July.

The vote:
