Bears fall to Packers 21-13

When the Bears needed a victory most, it was the same mistakes that kept them in their late season slide.

Costly penalties, frustrating interceptions and failure to convert red zone opportunities kept the Bears from beating the Packers in Week 15. The loss was their fifth in sixth games, dropping the Bears to 8-6 after a 7-1 start.

The Bears struck first, with Brandon Marshall catching a slant route, breaking a couple of tackles and scoring a 15 yard touchdown to make the game 7-0.

But the Packers scored the next 21 points of the game, all on touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers to James Jones. The Bears threatened in the 4th quarter, but twice stalled in the red zone.

The Bears are now on the outside looking in at the playoffs. Although their 8-6 record gives them a four-way tie for the last playoff spot in the NFC, the Bears lose in tie-breaking scenarios to the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears have two games remaining on the road: at the Arizona Cardinals and at the Detroit Lions.
