It's a day of loss for one area radio station and many Central New York listeners.

Afternoon radio personality Frank McBride of 92.7 TheDrive passed away earlier this morning. His co-workers describe him as a passionate, loyal man who loved his family, community and his profession.

The station co-owner says they will try to continue the traditions Frank set for them.

"He was so proud of the fact that his whole broadcasting career had been in Utica that he lived here all his life and that the events and charities were all for our local community. When he was in the office you knew he was here. He had lots of ideas, lots of energy and always was focused on being entertaining to the audience," said station co-owner, Mindy Barstein.

Frank had been with the drive for five years. He was 55 years old.
