9:45 AM the cannon went off for the start of the 3 mile Heart Run at the Whitestown Vets. I teared up a little as I hit me just how long ago it was the first and last time I did a run of any kind. I was 23 and I pushed myself to injury and to dissapointment in 1999. Here I am now at 34. It went by quicker than I thought and though I had to walk some points (a lot of other people did too), I still ran nearly 2 of the 3 miles, including almost the entire way from Notre Dame to the finish l...

Well I met with a trainer on Tuesday of this past week. His name is John and he was great explaining the weight machines and doing a chart for me. He was very patient and took his time with me which I really appreciated.
Yesterday, 03/06/10 I did the Heart Run & Walk (3 miles) and my feet were sore afterwards. I know now to invest in a good pair of walking shoes!
Today, I went to the gym and worked out 30 minutes. I saw Jeff there and he is really do...

I was off to a slow start with the working out part. I focused a lot on the diet. However, I know to be successful, excercise must be incorporated to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Since I began the challenge on 02/06/10 I've lost 9 lbs since my last weigh in on Sunday 02/21/10. I know I will need to get to the gym more often during the week and on weekends which I am planning to do.

I actually thought that because putting on this weight so quickly it would come off just as easily. Was I ever wrong.
I refuse to lose this challenge so I am working very hard. Beginning on Monday, I will be in to work out every day until I achieve my goal.

Been to the gym twice this week. Never really had a gym membership before. Defanatly a challenge even for the 2 days I was there. Used the track after streaching and made it 5 laps till I had to walk it. then 2 more laps jogging and 5 more walking. A bit of different weights and after 45 minutes I called it a day. Day 2 was exactly the same with a 10 minute slow workout on a cycle . That 10 minutes felt like a lifetime . A bit sore getting out of bed this morning and at work for most of the d...

Monday 2/22/10: I put in a wicked workout Saturday on the Eliptical machine and sweated off 442 calories in 30 minutes. The rest of the weekend I did what's so easy for us to do... give into temptation and ate a little more than I should have. It wasn't huge, but it was enough. This morning I went back at it and tried to stay on track with the diet better today. So far so good. 1/2 mile run to warmup, full muscle workout...
