First Week of Patterson Trial Comes to a Close

The next witness called to the stand was a friend of Patterson's, who he spoke with after Patterson's fight with his girlfriend, and prior to police arrival. On the phone, Patterson reportedly said: " 'my guns are loaded...locked and loaded.' He said he wasn't going to jail and he wasn't leaving his house," recalls Ernest Davenport. This is something Davenport says Patterson later denied saying. He also says Patterson sounded angrier than normal-- it was not their usual interaction.
The trial is set to continue on Monday.
