An eight hour stand off in Taberg has finally ended Friday evening. 41-year-old Daniel Bragg is now in custody.

Here is the media release from the O.C.S.O.:

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit, Daniel G. Bragg, age 41 of 3275 Pond Hill Rd. in the Town of Annsville was taken into custody after barricading himself in his residence for 8 hours. At approximately 1:00 PM on February 3, 2012, members of the Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Division and the Sheriff's Office Warrants Unit went to Bragg's residence to execute an Arrest Warrant on Mr. Bragg. During the execution of the Warrant, Bragg retreated into his residence and refused to surrender himself. Other occupants, who fled the residence, confirmed Bragg was hiding in the residence and was in possession of an assault rifle. A perimeter was established around the areas surrounding the Bragg residence and additional Officers were deployed to the scene.

For approximately 5 hours, Sheriff's Office and New York State Police negotiators worked together with members of the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team in an attempted to make contact with Bragg. These attempts were unsuccessful.

Shortly after 8:15 PM, members of the NYSP SORT Team entered Bragg's residence and found him hiding in the basement. Bragg was taken into custody by the NYSP SORT Team and then turned over to the Sheriff's Office.

Mr. Bragg was arraigned in the Town of Annsville Court on the charges of Menacing in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony. These Charges stemmed from a domestic dispute between Bragg and the mother of his child, which took place the previous evening at the Bragg residence. Mr. Bragg is being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 Cash Bail, or $200,000 Bond, and he is scheduled to return to Court at a later date.
