Oneida County Legislator, Harmony Speciale, hosted a special meeting to educate the public on different issues when it comes to making the most of government.
Speciale spoke about different issues such as the board cuts and redistricting.
She says this meeting was not for the legislators to give the public opinions, but a way to give them facts of what is going on.
"There are serious implications that could happen. There are also some pros to cutting the board, but at what compromise? We want to better explain what the compromise would be to the people's representation," said Speciale.
"It's important that when any of us legislators are voting, when the people are looking at several of the issues that they understand the issues and that they understand the process....it's more than just how we're going to cut the board or how many we're going to cut," said Oneida County Legislator, David Gordon.
Along with the board cuts, Speciale says she wanted to inform people on what exactly a county legislator does.
She says she wants to make sure people left Monday night's meeting with a better understanding of how legislators are here to serve them.
For the board cuts, there will be a vote held on Wednesday, February 8th.
