South Utica Residents learn how they can keep neighborhoods safe

South Utica residents had a chance to share issues and concerns Monday night regarding their neighborhood.
People had a chance to ask about street conditions, crime, and other things.
But, residents were also able to listen to officials on how they can keep their neighborhoods safe.
Assistant District Attorney, Grant Garramone spoke to residents to reassure them that they are here to help the people with any crimes or problems.
Garramone wants residents to know how important it is to be observant of what is going on in their own neighborhoods.
"People need to be vigilant...if they see something out of the ordinary, it's certainly their right to call and just bring it to our attention. It may not be illegal, or it might not be something that they can act upon with police counteraction, but we certainly want to hear about the information," said Garramone.
Garramone says residents keeping a look out on the area can act as a building block to help them start an investigation if one should arise.
He says that then could lead to some sort of an arrest and continue to help fight crime.
