RapidArc Treatment

setting a new standard for cancer treatment. In your health tonight Faxton St. Lukes
Hospital has obtained technology called RapidArc. The new treatment delivers
precise tumor destroying radiation. Experts say the new treatment is done in a
matter of minutes and is pain free. According to doctors the rapid arc
technology has the potential to improve the quality of care and comfort for
patients with a number of different types of cancer.
Dr. John Vakios says "By doing RapidArc we are able to cut down on the treatment time. This can deliver radiation therapy about eight times faster than what was given in the past. So it is a breakthrough for everyone."
