A reception was held Tuesday night for the passing of the shillelagh in honor of Pat Costello who is this year's Grand Marshall in the parade.

Costello will be leading the parade, and gets to keep his prized shillelagh for the next year.

"I've been every St. Patrick's Day but one parade, marched in them, brought my kids when they were little babies, now they have their own babies... to be named Grand Marshall is just exciting for everybody," said Costello.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the Oneida Square Roundabout.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
