"We're having a great time, we're bowling, not too well but we're having fun and cheering everybody on," said Bowler Denys Meade.
The fundraising idea came when Potter and his wife were brainstorming different wants they could give back to The House of the Good Shepherd.
"It makes living a lot easier.....they get to do more that they might not have been able to do before. It helps programs and cuts costs in different ways," said Howard.
For someone like Howard raising money for the home he once lived in, leaves some of the children and adults in disbelief.
But for Howard, it's just something he's thankful he can do for the community.
"It's just overwhelming....seeing people come out whether it's fifty or a thousand. It's a great turnout regardless, because we have people out from the community to help come out and donate," he said.
