Area high school baseball teams will go head to head starting this Friday all for an important cause.
The tournament will be used as a kickoff to the stop DWI Teen Traffic Safety Education Program.
Various educational presentations will take place during the event.
A representative from the Insight House says the Baseball Classic is a perfect avenue to reach children, students and parents.
"Unfortunately a lot of times we provide services when it's too late. An opportunity like this presents the public to be a part of something positive. And we know kids learn the most when they are having fun," said Paul Vitagliano, Jr., a Prevention & Training Director at the Insight House.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Department also will be offering free finger printing and taking pictures for SAFE CHILD Identification Cards.
The event is free and will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Murnane Field in Utica.
