Oneida County is taking part in National Men's Health Awareness Week.
The Oneida County Health Department held a free information session today.
The program coordinator says the purpose of the program is to increase awareness of preventable health problems for men and boys.
"Men don't always pay as much attention to their health as women, so we're just getting out to places they would be. And we can provide colorectal cancer awareness, and information on prostate cancer, some information on smoking, some information on ticks," says Wendy Hunt, program coordinator.
The health department gave uninsured men 50 years and older, free home colon cancer screening kits at the event.
