Your Local Election Headquarters: 22nd Congressional Seat

With a dismal approval rating many members of the House of Representatives will petition for your vote. In Central New York the twenty-second congressional seat is up for grabs. Democrats will offer Dan Lamb while republicans counter with incumbent Rep. Richard Hanna and challenger Michael Kicinski.

            Tuesday Republican voters will decide to either keep Mr. Hanna or try Mr. Kicinski. For the purpose of fairness we must point out that Kicinski has refused repeated requests for an interview with Eyewitness News.

            Representative Richard Hanna spoke with us today and he says his service so far has been a successful one. Hanna says, "I think my background having been a business person, involved so deeply with the local community and we've been pretty successful this past year. I've had more bills pass the house than any other member."

                        Congressman Hanna says he stands out from his opponent because he is willing to comprise. He added, "We live in a pluralistic society, everybody has a voice and frankly a gentleman who says no compromise under any circumstances, like Mr. Kicinski, doesn't add a lot of value. The value is in finding the best ideas and working forward."

            Mr. Hanna says he should be re-elected by the people because of he isn't afraid to reach across the aisle to work for a common purpose. Hanna says, "I know my community, I know economics, I know business. I've worked with our community foundation, been President of a number of other boards. I'm a balanced guy, I'm not an extremist, right now I have two extremes running against me. That's not this community and frankly it's not this country and that's not where the solutions are."
