Utica fire crews were called to the 1200 block of St. Vincent Street at 11a.m.

They found smoke and flames coming from a two-story building. The Utica Assistant Fire Chief says there were people living on both floors.

"Nobody hurt, no injuries, everybody's fine. There are people living on both floors, somebody smelled smoke, saw fire, got everyone out of the building. Looks like it originated on the second floor in the rear of the building," says George Clark, Assistant Fire Chief.

Clark says the fire was put out in about 20 minutes. He says the fire may have been started by a dryer, but the cause is still under investigation.
