Teenagers interested in the firefighting field got a jump start Thursday afternoon.

This is the first year that the camp has been offered for junior firefighters in the areas.

The goal is to get hands on experience, and to show them what it's like to be a firefighter.

"We've been practicing all week on a variety of different things, hand line advancement, search and rescue, we're going to do some ladder stuff today, so it's a lot of different tasks," said Camp Instructor, Rob Cowles.

The camp will wrap up tomorrow with a graduation ceremony.
