Dozens of families came out to Rome this afternoon for a fun and educational celebration. The Rome Police Department and other law enforcement agencies teamed up for "Law Enforcement Day" in Franklyns Field.

Community members could meet their area officials - And children could learn about the law, while also having some fun. Attendees say there were other valuable benefits too.

"They got finger printed and their pictures taken, their height and weight - which is great because if they ever go missing, all that information will be on file," says Kim Mastrogiovanni, mother and attendee.

"The coolest thing I learned about was bath salts. It's really bad for people, people can die and it can hurt their families. It scared me a little, but I learned a lot too," says Haley Hecox, 10-year-old attendee.

There were police vehicles and weapon displays, child safety seat inspections, firearm and taser demonstrations, bouncy houses, and even a DJ booth.

And the fun's not over just yet - The festival will be running until 10pm tonight and there will be a fireworks show at dusk.
