Boilermaker thirty-five has come and gone but today the winners of the sixth annual school challenge were announced. Participants had to be full time students between seventh and twelfth grade to participate. For the sixth year in a row Sauqoit Valley won the boys and girls 5-k. New Hartford's girls team captured the 15-k trophy. While Holland Patents boys ran away with the 15-k win. Students say being recognized by the boilermaker is amazing because of all the hard work they put in.
Sauquoit Valley Senior Gianna Latella says, "It means a lot because we train a lot, we train all summer and basically it's an all year round thing so it's always good to be a part of it."
This year, over seventy students from New Hartford participated in the Boilermaker giving them the participation award.
