Utica Common Council members Frank Vescera and Jim Zecca held a news conference this evening. They called out city and state government officials for not following through with the GroWest investigation and they are asking the public's help in making their voices heard.
"All across the state, when things like this have come up, the Attorney's General office and the FBI have been involved in cases such as this. Why not in Utica? What is being covered up?" says Jim Zecca, Councilman (D-2).
"We need an independent study to bring closure to what is going on for the last couple years. The depth and the extent of the harm and hurt that has been done to these people. There are dozens and dozens of these people out there," says Frank Vescera, Councilman (D-1)
The Councilmen say the victims of GroWest deserve to know what happened to their money. There will be a Finance Committee meeting this Thursday at 5pm. And the councilmen are urging community members to come out and speak up.
