AAA expects 33-million people traveling for Labor Day despite high gas prices

The recent increase in gas prices will not be stopping people from traveling for the last major holiday of the summer.
AAA Labor Day travel survey shows that 33-million people will travel fifty miles or more during the Labor Day weekend.
Compared to last year, the number of travelers is up almost 3-percent even though the average price of gas is up 14 cents since then.
"People want to get out and enjoy their holiday. They are staying closer to home. There has been a slight increase in airline travel as well because of the demand going down and along with the airfare going down as well. People have been waiting to travel with this little opening here," says Ed Welsh of AAA.
Welsh tells Eyewitness News the gas prices are at an all-time high for this year's holiday.
