Pit bulls have been making the headlines recently - and just this past
weekend, many East Utica residents say they witnessed a horrific
incident.
Witnesses say a loose pit bull attacked a person walking his golden labrador down the 400 block of Lansing Street in East Utica. They say the pit bull had the lab by the throat and would not let go. One witness says this isn't the first time he's seen this pit bull attack in his area.
"It just got attacked out of the clear sky, it just happened so quick. And the lady that's taking care of it, that owns it supposedly, doesn't abide by the law, doesn't have the shots for the dog, doesn't have it licensed. And they just moved into the neighborhood and we've got complaints from the postmen saying they're afraid to go by the house," says Lawrence Joseph, eyewitness.
Witnesses say no one was injured in the attack and police arrived within 10 minutes. From abandoned pit bulls to dangerous dog attacks, Eyewitness News is investigating these events and will continue to follow the story.
