Anyone can benefit from reading a good book, and kids in Rome and Western Oneida County have some new reads to choose from.
Duffy Books in Homes USA and the Literacy Coalition of Herkimer and Oneida Counties partnered up to bring over 30,000 new books to students.
The books will be distributed throughout the Rome City School District and other community organizations.
"Reading is key to everything. If you want to be successful and if you want to enjoy life, it all comes down to reading. Children who can't read become adults who can't communication and a child who reads at a grade level by the time they reach 4th grade is three times more likely to graduate high school," said Duffy Books in Homes USA President, Richard Quest.
