A retired FBI- special agent has been spending his summer biking across America all for a good cause.
And Friday afternoon he made a stop right here in Central New York. Retired agent Jim Caverly passed through Lock 20 in the Town of Marcy.
He is pedaling his way through states to honor fallen officers killed in the line of duty.
"You have a loss of a son or daughter in the line of duty and coming together with people who have had that same kind of loss is magical. Your life is changed forever and you talk with another mother or father and they say they can't sleep at night. It's a normal reaction," said Caverly.
Caverly's goal is to raise $30,000 for Concerns of Police Survivors or C.O.P.S., a non-profit organization providing services and programs for surviving family members and affected co-workers of fallen police officers.
