Just because there hasn't been as many reported cases of bath salts lately, the community is still working to make sure they keep it this way. Utica College held a forum discussing bath salts this afternoon. A clinical toxicologist from the New York Poison Control Center led the conversation. She says it's important for community members and college students to understand the harmful effects of using designer drugs.

"When you think about college community and college students, they're probably in the forefront of experimenting and have a lot of access so providing a lot of education to them as to the dangers of these things and really to provide the most education to give them safety," says Jeanna Marraffa, New York Poison Control Center clinical toxicologist.

Maraffa was joined by Senator Joe Griffo, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, Sheriff Rob Maciol, Captain Francis Coots, and District Attorney Scott McNamara, in a panel discussion.
