The annual Geriatric Scholar Program hosted it's second course in Utica on Thursday.
The event was held at the Masonic Care Community.
It's part of a five week course that provides specialized training in geriatrics and gerontology.
Thursday's topic in the program focused on culture and aging with around 30 to 40 healthcare professionals.
"Health professionals need to have state of the art information about practice and clinical life. It also provides participants with an opportunity to develop networks within their particular field," said Dr. John Toner, the Co-Director of Consortium of New York Geriatric Education Centers.
