The Domestic Violence Program of Herkimer County is "Empowering Women, One Bra at a Time."

That's the name of an upcoming clothing drive to collect women and girls new bras, t-shirts, underwear, and socks as well as new clothing items for boys.

The drive was organized as part of domestic violence awareness month in October.

"When a woman leaves a domestic violence situation, a lot of times they leave with just the clothes on their backs, so this drive will help women especially in shelter, to be able to have new under garnments and have a fresh start," said Kathryn Falk,.

This is the first year for the drive, and Kathryn says the community can start donating on Thursday.
