Area childern have the chance to participate in their own election

They're not old enough to vote yet, but the Utica Public Library is
getting children involved in their own presidential election.
Kids between the age of six and ten can read three different books about characters running in their own election.
The race is between Duck, Bad Kitty, and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
The Library's Director of Youth Services says it's a way to get the younger generation aware of elections at an early age.
"I think it's important that they are also thinking in terms of being a citizen as well as adults are. If you start thinking of those things now and by the time you're an adult, you're actually voting for a real president you'll be more engaged in government," said Josh Carlson, Director of Youth Services.
Carlson says they plan to pick a "President" after the real presidential election is over.
