The Utica City School District, like many other schools across the state have been getting less funding for programs and have made cuts in resources.
Today, Billy Easton, the Executive Director of Alliance for Quality Education or AQE in Albany joined Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi to tour the Utica School District.
Mr. Easton met with the school board, sat in classrooms and spoke with teachers and parents.
"Everybody is committed no matter what the resources are to give kids the best education that they can. But the bottom line is that the state has to step up to the plate and make sure that districts like Utica have classroom resources that they really need to compete in today's world," said Easton.
AQE is a statewide community-based advocacy group fighting for high education for all students in the state.
