One area company is joining 22nd Congressional District Candidate Dan Lamb to discuss trade reform.
Revere Copper Products in Rome say they hope to add on more jobs. But, the Chairman of the company says officials need to look into legislation that would crackdown on what they are calling china's illegal currency manipulation.
Democrat Dan Lamb agrees saying there needs to be a reform of unfair trade deals to keep jobs from being shipped overseas.
"What I'm calling for is a review of these trade deals to make sure that we are not giving foreign countries such an overwhelming advantage when it goes to the market place for our products. That is what's happening with China and Germany and other countries that deal with an added value tax," said Dan Lamb, (D) 22nd Congressional District candidate.
Lamb says his opponent, Republican incumbent Richard Hanna, refused to support a currency reform fair trade bill.
Richard Hanna says he supports addressing Chinese currency rates in a manner that best protects American consumers and businesses from unfair practices.
And, his office says, "the currency reform for fair trade act has not yet received a hearing, and Richard supports moving the bill forward through this regular order to ensure the bill best addresses today's economic conditions."
