What better way to spend this fall day inside than with hot cider and apple pie?

That's what some seniors at the West Side Senior Center in Utica did for their first ever Apple Fest Social.

Members brought friends and family to sample different apple based products like cider doughnuts and apple butter.

As the center is under new leadership, the CEO says he hopes to move the organization into a positive direction.

"Not only does it provide an opportunity for seniors to get out of their house and interact with other seniors that are in the same position they are in. But, it also gives the community something new, fresh and exciting to do," said Dr. Paul Mickler, CEO of West Side Senior Center.

And an interesting fact, the Senior Center is the oldest Senior Center in the City of Utica. The CEO says they recently just celebrated their 35th anniversary.
