It was a day of touring the Mohawk Valley for Governor Cuomo and his cabinet on Wednesday afternoon.

The Governor checked out different sites in the Utica-Rome area to see the progress that's been made on projects that received money last year from the Regional Development Council funds.

"We're investing taxpayer money. I personally want to see where tax payer money is going and make sure it's an investment," said Gov. Cuomo.

Governor Cuomo has asked different regions throughout the state to come up with their own plans on which projects are the most important to the area.

"We say look, you have different regions in the state and they're all different complex societies with different assets, and we leave it up to the regions to design their own economic plan," he said.

The Griffiss Institute in Rome and the Marcy Nano Center Infrastructure Upgrades were among the sites that the Governor checked out, and as for new projects, The Baseball Hall of Fame's future digitization program is one of many looking for funding.

"By providing the collections of The Hall of Fame to fans of the game in their own time and in their own space will lead to traffic coming to Cooperstown," said President, Jeff Idelson.

After the tour, the Mohawk Valley Regional Development Council had it's turn to present it's progress on last year's projects.

The council also discussed new projects that need funding to the Assessment Team.

"These presentations will be very important, and we're going to put our best topics and proposals and the best show out there for everybody to see," said Wolf Yeigh, Co-Chair of the Mohawk Valley REDC.

Yeigh says they hope to know how much money they will be getting by the end of this year.
