The man found near the scene of a 2011 Utica homicide has been found guilty on three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Back in May of 2011, officials say that Andre Jackson was found lying underneath a car, which was near the scene of a deadly shooting that had taken place that night.

Later on, police found a handgun near the area where Jackson was found.

Prosecutors say that a trace of DNA found on the gun was linked to Jackson.

Jackson's attorney, Les Lewis says his client could face a maximum of 15 years behind bars.

He's set to be sentenced February 8th.
