While the Newtown community continues to remember those lives that were
lost on Friday, so is the community here in Central New York.
A candlelight vigil was held tonight at Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary School by the "Friends of Rachel Club."
Rachel was the first student killed in the Columbine shooting, and the mission of the group is to spread a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.
And tonight, over 100 people did just that by supporting those affected in Newtown.
"It's just overwhelming, it's heartwarming, and it's just such a great site to see," said organizer, Andrea Cordero.
"It's an amazing turnout, everybody just came together nicely to support the tragedy in Connecticut," said club member, Joseph Juliano.
Community members also brought new stuffed animals to donate to the students at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
