It started with a simple idea on Twitter: "#26 Acts" to encourage acts of kindness after the shootings in Connecticut but it's multiplied into a movement.

After covering the tragedy, NBC News' Ann Curry tweeted about doing acts of kindness for each person lost at the school. Now people around the country are joining the movement, and the Utica Zoo says it's proud to take part. #

"Several of the children whose funerals were this week loved animals and it helped me realize that as small as it is, we can do something in their honor and in their memory to offer a free day on Saturday for families to take a little break from the business of the season and to enjoy a couple of moments together here at the zoo," says Andria Heath, executive director at Utica Zoo.

Utica Zoo will be giving free gifts likes candy canes and posters to visitors all week long. And like Ms. Heath said, there will be free admission all day this Saturday.
