The Central New York Veteran's Outreach Center hosted a special event in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

The organization says they're representing African Americans in the military today. The center also wanted to get the community aware resources they offer for area veterans, one of them being their food pantry.

"It gets used very often. The pantry gets used between five to seven vets every week. We are always short on food; pasta, tuna anything canned, vegetables. Those are the hot items that they go through. It's always getting used," said Selden Grimes- Przelomiec.

Representatives of the Outreach Center also gave tours of their facility and provided refreshments today.

Two movies were shown in honor of MLK Day.
