A portion of the sidewalk in downtown Utica has been closed off due to a water line break.

Officials say a private water service line burst early this morning due to the frigid temperatures. That line feeds into the Harza building on Genesee Street.

The water was shut off to that building. No one else was affected. Crews were on the scene all afternoon inspecting damages.
