Many people on-the-hunt say the job market doesn't look promising.

One area employer is changing that perception however, looking to fill more than 100 positions.

The Turning Stone Resort Casino is looking to hire full and part-time jobs for a soon-to-be built restaurant and a multi-million dollar entertainment facility.

Lines were out the door at Turning Stone's Restaurant and Entertainment Career Fair. The Oneida Nation is looking to fill 150 jobs as they will be expanding business operations in the coming months.

"I don't know that we have done this volume of hiring since our last major expansion which was the hotel spa and convention center four or five years ago," said V.P. of Human Resources, Dana Sovocool.

An American bar and grill called the Upstate Tavern is scheduled to open in April.

And Exit 33, an entertainment facility is set to open its doors in July, which is Turning Stone's 20th anniversary.

22-year-old Monica Jaquays is one of the hundreds of applicants that walked through Turning Stone's doors today.

The Waterville resident is a recent college grad- applying to be an events and promotions manager at Turning Stone. She says she is ready to start her career.

"With my personality I'm hoping to shine someone with a little bit more experience. I hope it gives me bit of an edge," said Jaquays.

There are a variety of positions opened including serving, security, and culinary positions.

Marty Ball of Canastota has been looking for work ever since he moved back from Ohio in December.

He says applying for positions are a bit more challenging nowadays especially with the internet.

"People don't want to meet you in person. They want to apply online, so it's really hard to differentiate yourself because it's words on a piece of paper in cyberspace," said

People that applied online or today all were interviewed.  Some were even offered positions on the spot.
