Valentine's Day is a couple days away, but one organization is celebrating it a little early.

The Westside Senior Center in Utica put on its 2nd annual "Valentine's for Veterans" this afternoon.

The center organized a free luncheon for all veterans as a way to thank them for the sacrifices they've made.

"We figured well, they gave us their heart and soul defending our freedom so now we are giving our hearts back on Valentine's Day to them. We want them to enjoy themselves because they certainly have earned it," said organizer, Barbara Mickler.

The center started the new tradition ever since they began sending cards to service men and women overseas on Valentine's Day.
