Young leaders in Central New York are being recognized today. The 3rd Annual Striving for Success program honored nine people in the community for their work.

Hosted by the Genesis Group, the executive director says it's important to spotlight their efforts because they're the future of the community.

"This program recognizes individuals who made an investment to stay in the community to be rooted, to get involved. And they are not only going above and beyond in their profession, but they are getting involved in community projects," said Executive Director, Ray Durso.

The luncheon was held at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford.

Coach Gary Heenan of Utica College's men's hockey team was the keynote speaker.
