Utica Police responded again last night to Calvary Cemetery on Oneida Street. They say a neighbor reported hearing shots fired. Police say they searched the area and came up with nothing. At this point they believe that no shots were actually fired and think a neighbor heard another noise and mistook it for gun shots. However, Police say they are continuing to investigate after the initial incident Tuesday. To recap, on Tuesday night Utica Police found assault rifles in a car near the cemetery and a shot deer that has since died. Sgt. Steve Hauck says the UPD has teamed up with the Department of Environmental Conservation. He says some environmental laws could have been violated, and the DEC is experienced in enforcing those types of laws.
