St. Elizabeth Medical Center just added two new services to its facility in New Hartford. They've opened new imaging and lab services with state of the art technology. "We do all sort of diagnostic x-ray, ultra sound, CT scan, digital mammography and bone densitometry studies here."
Imaging services previously took place on the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Campus in Utica. The age of the equipment was becoming an issue as was parking for patients. The new location has brought better parking and new technology. Many of the machines are state-of-the-art, and use digital imaging as opposed to film. Radiologist Dr. Roger Bowers says the image quality is much better. And tan says digital imaging makes the process a lot safer for the patient, as they are exposed to less radiation.
The Mammography machine is state of the art. Tan says it uses the lowest amount of radiation possible without compromising image quality, and adjusts the dosage based on each individual. And it's a lot more comfortable of a process that with previous machines. Walk-ins are welcome with a healthcare provider referral or you can call (315) 734-3471.
