Fall Foliage in Central New York

There is no denying the cold weather is just around the corner.  But before that cold weather creeps in, comes the colorful fall foliage.  According to ILoveNewYork.com's fall foliage report, most of Central New York is at peak foliage, close to peak, or a little behind at mid peak. In Oneida County, about 60% of leaves have changed with peak foliage still to come.  Right now muted shades of gold and bronze are dominant. In southern Herkimer County they say about 70% of leaves were changed this past weekend, at near peak foliage.  Peak foliage has hit Otsego County, where yellow colors are predominating with touches or red and orange.

With fall foliage comes fall tourists.  ILoveNewYork.com says autumn is one of the state's most popular traveling seasons. And they say unlike the rest of the country, the northeast has a wide range of different trees, allowing for an array of colors.
