A fundraiser was held Monday night to raise money for Shadow, The German
Shepard who was shot and killed by a Retired State Trooper.
The benefit also was to raise money for Shadow's owner Bernard Sperfeld.
Over $700 was raised at the fundraiser.
A tree will be planted in Shadow's memory at The Trenton Greenbelt where the dog was shot.
Mr. Sperfeld says he's very thankful for everyone who attended to show support for his pet companion.
"It makes me feel good that I see all the animal lovers come here to support me and all of them hope that justice will be done," said Sperfeld.
Those who came were able to support Sperfeld, as well as get together with people in the community.
Sperfeld says that any remaining funds that were raised at tonight's fundraiser will be donated to the Humane Society.
